Accreditation

If you care about quality in child care, you’ve come to the right place!  ACE the Alligator is here to help you learn about accreditation, because Accreditation in Childcare is Excellence!

Click here to find an updated list of homes and centers/preschools in the Kent Regional 4C service area that have earned national accreditation.

Accreditation is important for…

    Parents and Children:

·         Children receive high quality care and education.
·         Children are more ready to read when they enter school.
·         One parent said she chose an accredited provider because, "I want the best care for my child."

Providers:
·         "The process of looking at national standards and making improvements to my program is very empowering." (from a family home child care provider just earning her accreditation)
·         “I feel so good knowing that I am doing all I can for the children in my care." (from a family home child care provider just earning her accreditation)
·         It increases the teachers’ and directors’ feeling of accomplishment.

     The Community:
    ·         Accreditation defines standards of quality.
    ·         Accredited programs help parents and policy makers recognize high quality child care and education.
    ·         It promotes provider’s professional development.
