Using Child Care Select test
Child Care Select© helps you make an informed decision about child care and education three different ways.
1. The Photo Gallery provides pictures taken in nationally accredited child care homes or centers. The pictures and their narratives show one way quality standards can be met.
2. The Symbols:
a. The Essential symbols describe signs of quality.
b. The Elective symbols are not about quality, but do describe things that may be important for meeting the unique preferences and needs of your family.
3. The Checklist is a list of questions about the Essential symbols to ask providers when you interview them.

Child Care Select© is a program available to help you make an informed decision in your search for quality child care. The series of symbols give you specific information about each provider. For example, the program print out will show if the provider has reported having an Early Childhood Education Degree. This information is included in the package of provider names that we will be sending to you.
It is important to remember that Kent Regional 4C does not license, endorse, or recommend any of the providers. In order to insure quality care, we suggest you visit, interview, and check references on several providers.

An Explanation of Child Care Select © Symbols for Providers
Child Care Select© symbols give parents specific information about the child care homes and centers that are referred to them. For example, if you have reported any credentials completed in Early Childhood Education, parents would see those symbols next to your name on the referral list that is sent to them.
Child Care Select© also gives you, the provider, the opportunity to "showcase" what you have to offer a potential parent. So in turn, the more information you provide Kent Regional 4C, the more marketable you will be.
