Benefits of the Kent Regional 4C Child and Adult Care Food Program

Reimbursement for Meals - The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) assists licensed child care providers and relative child care providers plan, serve, and help pay for nutritious meals/snacks for children in care.  All food programs reimburse the same rate set by the United States Department of Agriculture. 

Calendar Keeper
- Given to participating providers annually.  It is a useful tool to help organize your business.

FREE Conference - The 4C Child and Adult Care Food Program invites you to participate in the annual Kent Regional 4C Early Childhood Conference at no cost to you.

Menu Mate Codes / Preprinted Menus / Internet Claiming - Three quick, convenient ways to record meals and snacks.

Postage - Each month you are mailed .61 cents of postage with your check stub.

Training Opportunities - Kent Regional 4C offers a variety of workshops throughout the year on various topics such as record keeping, taxes, and child development.  For training opportunities in other counties call 1-866-424-4532.  Also a one hour training certificate is given for each year of participation on the CACFP.

Training Vouchers - Worth $15.00 towards training/workshops at Kent Regional 4C offices.  They can also be used for CPR/First Aid Training.  Given yearly.


Perfect Menu Program - When you send in an error free menu you will receive a Perfect Menu Certificate that can be saved and turned in for a choice of gifts, including Training Vouchers.

Promotional Items - CACFP Specialists bring various food gadgets for you to help prepare meals such as jar grippers, spaghetti grabbers and pan scrapers.  Food related videos and books may also be given.

Recruitment Incentive - You will receive a $5.00 Training Voucher and gift from us if you refer a provider to our program. 

Yearly Tiering - To receive your maximum reimbursement rate 4C will review your Tier status yearly.

One Stop Shopping - We check your menus in the same office as we work.  We are readily available to answer any questions, and we have a convenient 1-800 number. 

Provider Referral Service - Child Care Provider Referral Service available to all parents in Michigan looking for licensed child care.  Go to www.greatstartforkids.org to update your information or call our partner Pathways at 1800-396-0241 for your ID number to access your account.

Informative - Information on nutrition, recipes, upcoming events, activities for children, child management, etc., is offered regularly through our newsletters and Checkstuffers.  Age appropriate educational materials, and information packets are given on home visits.  Topics include menu planning, interviewing, contracts, and nutrition just to name a few. 

Free Prescription Card - Get The Medicine (GTM) is a free prescription discount card that can be used at many pharmacies to receive an extra savings on prescription costs.  GTM can be used if you have no insurance or if your insurance does not cover a prescription.

Help with Menus - We promptly inform you of any errors you've made on your menus to guarantee maximum reimbursement.

Great Staff - Committed, caring staff who will provide assistance with the CACFP as well as other child care related issues.
