Food Program

If you are a licensed child care provider or a relative child care provider, you qualify to be reimbursed for nutritious meals and snacks that you serve to children in your care.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Michigan Department of Education.  Kent Regional 4C is a Sponsor of the CACFP in Michigan.  The program is designed to assist Child Care Providers in planning and helping to pay for nutritious meals/snacks served to children in care, 0 – 12 years of age.

Based on specific criteria, child care centers, homeless and domestic violence shelters, and transitional housing programs may qualify for the CACFP.  These facilities may be able to receive reimbursement for meals prepared as well as training in the nutritional needs of children.  If you are one of these facilities and would like more information or to apply for the Child and Adult Care Food Program, contact the Department of Education, 517-373-7391.
