 Everyone wants our young children to be successful in school and in life.  Parents and relatives of young children, child care and education professionals, and employers want young children to be happy, healthy, educated, productive members of our society.

Sometimes these same adults need to:


*Educate others about best practices for young children

*Voice their opinions about current practices

*Raise their concerns and questions



Kent Regional 4C encourages anyone who is interested in building our future by supporting young children and their families to become an advocate.  To learn more about early childhood issues and how to make a difference, check out the links below.

  • Fight Crime, Invest in KidsResearch, resources and advocacy about keeping children from becoming criminals.
  • First Steps:  A partnership whose vision is that every young child in Kent County will be ready to succeed in school and in life.
  • Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children (MiAEYC):  An early childhood professional organization that advocates for young children and their families.
  • Michigan Child Care Task Force This group meets bi-monthly in Lansing to hear updates on the state of early childhood care and education, and plan advocacy activities. You can sign up to receive their meeting minutes at this site. 
  • Michigan’s Children:   This organization is the voice for children to make Michigan a place for children to thrive.
  • Michigan Coalition for Children and Families:   A non-partisan network of organizations and individuals working to improve the quality of life for children in Michigan.
  • Michigan League for Human Services:This organization is a nonprofit, nonpartisan statewide policy and advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring that Michigan’s low-income residents achieve economic security.
